We’ve had a few customers ask about having auto-breaks injected into shifts that are longer than (x) hours. For example, if you have a shift that is (x) hours long, have the system automatically inject a (x) minute break into the shift and calculate the labor cost and hours appropriately on the schedule.

Here is a real world example: In some workplaces, if you work a shift that is equal or greater than 8 hours, it is mandatory to take a 30 minute break. If the “Auto-break” feature is enabled, it will calculate the labor costs at 7.5 hours instead of 8. In the screenshot below, the employee gets paid $10/hour. You can see that instead of tallying the labor cost for 8 hours (1-9 shift), it injected a 30 minute break and is tallying it at 7.5 hours because the shift was greater or equal to 8 hours.

You can enable the “Auto-break” feature by going to “Settings” then clicking on “Company Settings”.
